Interim House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that provides a continuum of comprehensive services to women with substance abuse and mental health issues. Interim House serves approximately 150 clients each year through its 60 licensed outpatient service slots and 25-bed residential and halfway house program. As the first specialized treatment program for women in Pennsylvania and one of the first in the nation, Interim House has been a model for innovative treatment over the past 50 years.

While originally established in 1971 as a residential treatment program, Interim House expanded in 1993 to provide outpatient services and in 1998 it further expanded to include an intensive outpatient program. Additionally in 2015 a Halfway House level of care was added to the continuum of care. These were added to increase the support for women struggling to maintain sobriety once they leave the structured environment of the residential program. Interim House became a subsidiary of Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) in 1989. PHMC is a non-profit public health organization committed to improving the health of the community through outreach, education and health promotion, research, planning and technical assistance. PHMC provides financial management, quality assurance, clinical training and administrative and technical support to Interim House.

Located in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia, we serve women from Philadelphia as well as our other Counties which includes Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Cumberland, Perry, and Franklin/Fulton County.
