Interim House, Inc has received a $12,500 Community Fund grant from Women's Way to foster Career Development for Women in Recovery. Fifteen women who have had success in their recoveries from substance use will participate in a rigorous program to become certified in Pennsylvania as Peer Recovery Specialists. They will receive academic and GED training with Interim House's teachers and tutors and career training from PRO-ACT (Pennsylvania Recovery Organization-Achieving Community Together). With Certification as Peer Recovery Specialists, women at Interim House - many of whom have lengthy histories of substance use and homelessness - will be able to secure well-paying careers helping other people who struggle with drug use and/or behavioral health challenges.
