Envision a specialized, trauma-informed residential treatment program for women that employs a client-centered, holistic approach to treating addiction and promoting recovery. A place that provides a continuum of comprehensive services to women with substance abuse and mental health issues that includes five levels of care: Residential short-term and long-term, Halfway House, Intensive Outpatient, and Outpatient Treatment. This is Interim House...
Incorporated in 1971, Interim House was one of the first specialized treatment programs for women in the nation and continues to be the only women specific outpatient program in the city of Philadelphia. We are a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Division of Drug and Alcohol Program Licensure and a credentialed Community Behavioral Health provider. A model for innovative substance abuse treatment for women, Interim House has been transforming lives for almost 50 years.
Interim House helped me to find myself and go after all that life had to offer. I gained my dignity, pride and self worth. Through the help of the therapist and resident advisors, I learned to make healthy relationships. I was also reunited with my family. But most of all Interim House changed my life through understanding, caring and laying the foundation for me to build on.
